1. Service Description
DocScrub is a technology tool that removes metadata from PDF and DOCX files. Files are processed in memory only and are never stored on our servers.
2. Not Legal Advice
DocScrub is not a substitute for legal advice. We make no claim that using this tool satisfies any ethical, regulatory, or legal obligation, including but not limited to ABA Model Rules, HIPAA, GDPR, or any state bar requirements. You are solely responsible for ensuring your document handling practices comply with applicable law.
3. No HIPAA Certification
DocScrub is not a HIPAA-compliant service. It is not certified under HIPAA or any other regulatory framework. If you require HIPAA-compliant document processing, do not use this service.
4. User Responsibility
- You are responsible for verifying scrubbed documents before sharing them
- You must comply with all laws applicable to your use of the service
- You may not upload files containing malware or illegal content
- Free tier limited to 5 files/month. Abuse may result in account suspension
5. Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime through your Stripe billing portal. Refund policy is handled by Stripe's standard payment dispute process.
6. Limitation of Liability
DocScrub is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to metadata inadvertently retained in processed documents.
